Social Upbringing thru Preschool years

We have been reading, observing, experimenting with the golden age children of age 2 to 6 years. We have observed that the child is very well protected at home under the environment of parent, grand parent and other elders surrounding the child.

The child needs to explore, experiment, engage in all the environment surrounding the child. A caring and exposure in safe environment will develop the following qualities which are necessary for the child's emotional, social growth.

The child need to mix with the children of the same age, child of younger age and child of elder age. The child need to spend time with the children of mixed age group.

The fear of children to get along with the new children develops capability of  social go getting, understanding that other children are also part of the society and all of us need to get along.

Develops in children the ability of team working, which is a necessary part in life of grown up adult as well.

Therefore it is necessary and beneficial for the society at large to have the child go to preschool, wherein the child gets a safe, caring environment to complete the task of Explore, Experiment, Engage with the new surrounding, making the child ready to deal with new environs, location, people, situations etc. etc.

Developing children as Good Citizen

Dear Parents Upbringing of children is very challenging task. It is not based on instructions. Parents and elders have a very big role in this journey. Parents need to demonstrate right behavior to the children.  A very simple things such as getting water for drinking on their own and not asking to be served. Elders need to demonstrate to child that they also take the water on their own and not demand/ask. The child observes this behavior and works as per this.  When the child grows up you will notice that child does his work on his own. A simple habit of wrapping bed sheet from one's bed every morning is important, this develops self discipline. All the family members if do the work at home on their own in front of child, child learns this as a standard practice and does this work routinely. No special efforts are needed but elders, parents need to demonstrate the actions which they want the child to develop. Do not expect perfection in work as outcome but concentrate on...

Preschool - Experiential Learning best way to Learn

Dear Parents Little Saplings Preschool at Ravet operates the school based on guiding principle of Dr Maria Montessori and technical know how from Kreedology Bangalore.  Let us understand what is Experiential learning and normal preschool. Children of the age group 2 to 6 years are constantly trying to learn the surrounding environment, socializing with people but all this is happening on their own terms and their own comfort. We as grown ups need to guide them and not go on teaching them  The above photo shows how a preschool should be planned. You can see the study material racks, the height of which is fully comfortable for the child. The child can pick up the material which he/she likes.  We encourage child to take the material from the rack and take to their place of working. This helps the child to develop balancing skills, hand eye coordination. We guide the child to take on their won the seating mat. Unroll and roll back after the activity is c...

Preschool for Best Upbringing

The life style of the society has changed phenomenally in India. The social fabric is changed. Earlier days we used to have a family of structure, wherein all the elders used to be staying in one big family The children used to learn by observing elders, siblings, neighbor. All the skills required as such gross motor skill, fine motor skill, cognitive skill, socializing, language skills used to get developed without much input from the parents. The changed life style is such that this very foundation of the great family is gone. Now the parents are staying in various  cities away from the big family staying together. The family structure is now changed to mother, father and child. Both parents are working and hence child is left to day care home OR with the home maid. Children learn by observation and not by teaching. With parents, siblings, neighbors not be available for observation and learning children slowly get attracted to other means of learning i.e. Television, mobile...
